IWL Fishing Charters
If We're Lucky Fishing Charters can guide you to
the trophy salmon and "barn door" halibut which swim in the waters of southern
Vancouver Island. IWL has a portable, modern vessel and a knowledgeable
captain, Paul Paquin, so you, the guest, can reach the "fishiest"
areas in Juan de Fuca Strait, from Victoria to Port Renfrew.
Most travelers know Victoria, BC to be a destination of beauty and charm. But many might not know this city for the great angling and rugged seascapes within 40 km (25 miles). Some of Vancouver Island’s finest fishing lies within easy reach of the city of Victoria through all four seasons.
IWL uses a well-equipped 23-foot Grady-white walkaround cabin vessel named Well Done IV . Two Yamaha four stroke outboards power the vessel that is trailered to the spots that are most promising at the time of the year you visit. The vessel's private marine head adds to your comfort and security when cruising with IWL.
Paul Paquin, who has fished Vancouver Island salt waters
for 41 years, is the skipper and guide of Well Done IV .
Unlike commercial fishermen, “sporties” and guides are out there
at all times of the year, and Paul is no exception. Because of Juan
de Fuca’s potential for year-round fishing, he fulfills the skipper’s
obligation to monitor weather and tides in order to ensure a pleasant, safe
expedition
in any season. From his rich fishing experience, Paul can recount
many stories (some of which are true).
The environment of BC’s West Coast and the atmosphere aboard Well Done IV invite you, the client, to become a friend. As a friend, you can experience the amazing West Coast seascape and view whales, seals, porpoises, eagles and other wildlife in their own environment. As a friend, you will be treated with safety, with fairness, and if we’re lucky, with salmon or halibut.
